Slim Birdie Biography.
Slim Birdie with real name Vambeh Tersoo Stephen was born on the 20th of May in a family of four at Mkar Hospital, Gboko. As a third born, he grew up with his mum and dad at Mkar, Gboko. He started enjoying the art of music at a young age of about 9-11years when artists like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Westlife, Sean Paul and R.Kelly were constantly on repeat on speakers in his house. Listening to them made him to vibe to their songs and subsequently he began to grow interest in the art of music. He started experimenting music when he was in Jss 3 at Government Model College, Katsina Ala and he continued even after graduating from the school. He recorded his first song in 2012 at CastBlock Music Empire which was known back then as Kno’So Records. The Song was produced by the Gboko top producer Modiboi who is now currently based in Abuja.
Slim Birdie is a graduate of Benue State University, Makurdi. He studied B.A theatre arts in the year 2018 and he completed his NYSC mandatory service in March 2020.
Immediately after his first song though it was an amateur record, he felt it as a big step & achievement. He continued writing and trying to record songs subsequently as a rap Artist. In his 300 Level in the university, he started working under Tervella Records as their in house artist and he released his first official single as a singer titled “WHY” which changed a lot in his career. He received many good & encouraging feed backs after the release of the song from fans in different parts of the country.
Subsequently, songs like Moment, Move & Past followed up which were instant hit songs around Benue state.
He listens to a wide range or varieties of music which influences his sound but specifically artists like R.Kelly, 2baba, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Rihanna and Wande Coal influenced/motivated his music in various ways.
