Zacks Onwe, as he is popularly known, hails from Ulepa, Ntezi, Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi State. He is a leader, an entrepreneur and a community development enthusiast. He is the founder, Ntezi Peoples’ Forum, a community based organization which focuses on the practical development of Ntezi as a community and making education accessible to children in Ntezi community irrespective of their economic backgrounds. Zack’s strong passion for education led him to mobilise resources, procured and distributed study and writing materials to schools in the community. In 2018, he started an advocacy on providing suitable learning environment for the pupils of Ntezi Central School through the Big brother Challenge organized by Citizen Journalists Network. This led to the building of two classroom blocks in the school in 2020 by the Ebonyi State government.

Mr. Onwe is the host of the community engagement program ” Role of Education in Community Development”, a program which focuses on providing full school support for children in primary and secondary schools in rural communities of Ebonyi state, Nigeria through essay writing, quiz competition and spelling bees. Through this programme, he offered scholarship to five students in the community on 30th December 2020.

Zacks would usually say, “I am driven to bridge the gap of illiteracy and drop outs from school amongst children in the rural Communities.
Apart from education, Zacks is also leading other community development initiatives. He is the Team Lead of the Ntezi Make Our Hospitals Work Campaign and the Secretary of the Ebonyi State Team of the campaign. He is also a Member of the Ebonyi Women and Girls Rights Advocates (EWoGRA) seeking to ending violence against women and girls.

Recently, he provided a borehole for the people of Ndiagueke Village in Ntezi who lacked good drinking water. This became possible through a a social media advocacy he tagged #GoodWaterIsLifeCampaign.

Zack loves wild life and wants to prevent them from going into extinction, a reason for him to study Zoology and hold a bachelors degree from Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi Benue state, Nigeria. He held various leadership positions in the university; he was the President of National Association of Ebonyi State Students Nigeria, Federal University of Agriculture Chapter as well as the Secretary General, Federation of Igbo Students University of Agriculture Makurdi Chapter. He has worked with Imo State Zoological Garden, Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria and Jos Wild life park, Jos, Plateau state, Nigeria during his six months industrial training while in school.

Onwe Zack Onyebuchi describes himself as someone who is outspoken and dedicated with lots of integrity who is willing to go the extra mile in achieving his goals. His interpersonal skills include: good communication skills, good team player, leadership, good listening skills, ability to work under less supervision and good time management. He is a serial volunteer; having volunteered for various organizations of which include: Bridgers Association Cameroon, United Nations, Orrin Education Foundation, IGHUSUF Africa, Citizens Journalist Network, Jenny Uzo Foundation, Femme Lead Africa.

Finally, Zacks is an agropreneur and the founder of Sunchild Group, an agro-based brand which is into poultry and piggery farming as well as palm plantation.

Bonezworld celebrates this young man who gives hope to many and inspires others to greatness. With many like him, the Development of our individual rural Communities is assured.
