BREAKING!!! Peter Obi set to go to court says the election was not transparent, free and fair
The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he will seek redress in court.
Obi spoke after the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the president-elect.
Obi said he would contest Tinubu’s victory through legal and peaceful means. He revealed this on Wednesday, March 1, in Abuja at a press conference addressed by his running mate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed.
He said, “On behalf of our presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, I address you all and indeed all Nigerians on the current situation in the country following the announcement of the purported result of the presidential election held on Saturday, February 25th 2023.
“Please be assured of our determination to fight the injustice that has been perpetrated on Nigerians through all legal and peaceful means. It is our position that the purported result did not meet the minimum criteria of a transparent, free and fair election,” Baba-Ahmed said.
